Mr. Kennedy passed away November 26, 2020 in Canton. He was born April 4, 1971 in Pasadena, Texas. Steven was a Veteran. He served proudly in the US Navy on the USS Saratoga during Desert Storm. His plan was to retire from the Navy. An injury during his service prevented that. He worked in TV broadcasting as an audio/visual engineer for a short period. He had worked in Fire Protection for the past 20 plus years becoming known as “Fire Guy Steve”.
Steve was a very loving and caring man. Always self-sacrificing for other’s needs. He was a wonderful Husband, Father, Son, Brother and Paw Paw. Steve never met a stranger and could talk to anyone. He enjoyed raising beef master cattle and was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. Steve was also a Free Mason of The Fort Worth Lodge.
Mr. Kennedy was preceded in death by his mother, Brenda Wilson; grandparents: Mildred Hopkins and husband Joseph W Kennedy, L.D. Kennedy as well as Wilma Ruth Hill; and an uncle, Gary W Hopkins and Terry M Hopkins.
Steve is survived by his wife, Gwen Kennedy of Canton; three daughters: Amanda Bustos of Gun Barrel City, Kathryn Kennedy of Canton and Kristian Kennedy of Hitchcock; three grandsons: Jackson Jordan, Bridger Easton and Gunner Wayne; granddaughter, Scarlett Rose; father, Randy & Step-Mother Susan Kennedy of Deer Park; three brothers: Bobby Wales, Daniel Wales and Joseph Kennedy; Aunt Joanna Burch & Uncle Gary Burch, Uncle Forrest “Woody” Dougan, Aunt Gayla Everitt & Uncle George Everitt; Cousins, Angela Burch Vigg & family, Denise Hart & Family, Mandy Rose & Family, Shawn and Rachel Keese, Andrew Dougan, John Thomas; step-father, Don Wilson; and mother-in-law, Marlene Purvis.
