Shirley went home to be with the Lord on June 4, 2022 in Tyler, Texas. She was born on September 18, 1940 in Park River, North Dakota to John Henry and Amy Arabella Simmons Ramsey.
Shirley married the love of her life, William "Bill" Parker, on July 1, 1978. She relished spending quality time with her best friend riding bikes all through Europe when she was young. She was a very tasty chef and excellent teacher for cooking. Shirley was extremely generous with people and always gave to numerous charities. She adored going to church and what she loved most in life was God, family and friends. Her favorite hobbies were hanging out with family, friends, crafting and sewing while listening to gospel and country music. One of her most favorite sayings was, "Oh! Really?", which always made you stop and think. Shirley always believed in putting in a full day of work and took pride in accumulating 25 years in the forest service in Alaska before becoming a treasured part of the telemarketing family at Winning Strategies for over 16 years in Canton, Texas.
Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, John and Amy Ramsey; beloved husband, William Louis "Bill" Parker; sister, Virginia; and brothers, Donnie, Lester, Desmond and Gordon.
She is survived by her family; sons, Neal Parker and wife Kay of Richardson, Texas, Brian Parker of Warsaw, Indiana, Kevin Parker of Valley, Washington, and daughter, Denise Hatfield and husband Bob of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; 11 beautiful grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren; brother, Ernie Ramsey of Grand Forks, North Dakota; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 2:00 p.m. at Eubank Funeral Home.
Interment will be at Colfax Cemetery in Van, Texas.
