Robert enlisted in the Army Air Corps during World War II as an aircraft mechanic, stationed at Rice Army Air Field in the Mojave Desert, California. After the war he was a professor at Tarleton State University teaching aero mechanics and also to high school students in the evenings. He then attended North Texas State University, Denton, TX where he met the love of his life, Norma Faye Welch. They married on December 27, 1949 and were married 56 years before her passing. He finished his Engineering Degree at Texas Christian University and was employed as an engineer for Bell Helicopter for 25 years. He founded Goode Airport in 1968 in Southlake, Texas and operated the airfield doing aircraft maintenance and inspections until moving to Canton, Texas in 1996.
He met the second love of his life, Mary Lisa Kaseman, whom he married November 25, 2006.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Bascum Pierce and Frances Mildred Brooking Good; wife, Norma Faye Welch Goode; son, Robert Edward Goode; brothers, Charles and Donald Goode; and grandson, Alex Goode.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Lisa; sons, Paul and Marilyn Goode, Stephen and DeAnna Goode; daughter in-law, Mary Goode; stepsons, Scott and Mark Kaseman; grandchildren, Paula, Sheryl, Rebekah, Jennifer, Veronica, Sam, Matthew, and Johnathon Goode; great grandchildren, many friends and his Tailwind Airport family.
