Hoyt is survived by his daughters, Jenneane (Pat) Puckett of Canton, TX and Candy (Marvin) Powe of Paducah, TX. He will be fondly remembered by his six grandchildren, Michelle (Nick) Bowling, Michael (Kendra) Parker of Amarillo, TX, Mandie (Tim) Adams of Canton, TX, Landon (Janey) Powe of Idalou, TX, Trevor (Kate) Powe of Stephenville, TX and Adam (Mandy) Piper of Athens, TX. Great-grandchildren Brady Parker, Brock Parker, Bryer Parker, Roslyn Bowling, Daniel (Liberty) Poage of Amarillo, Averie Cantrell, Favor Cantrell, Grayson Adams, Cole Cantrell, Moses Cantrell, Savanah Adams, Emma Adams of Canton, Comadore Powe, Hoyt Powe of Idalou, Kennedy Powe, Daylee Powe of Stephenville, Sadie Piper, and Lucas Piper of Athens and great-great granddaughter Ava Poage of Amarillo.
Hoyt was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 65 years Freddie Lee (Allen), his oldest daughter Barbara Lee Parker, 3 brothers and 5 sisters.
Hoyt graduated from Paducah High School with the class of 1949. He served as Senior class president 1948-1949, FFA president 1947-1949, and 11 year club. He married Freddie Lee Allen on February 26, 1950. They made their home in Paducah, TX where Hoyt was engaged in farming and cattle. He served as a deacon of Chalk Baptist Church and later First Baptist Church of Paducah, TX. He served on the board of directors for Farmers Co-Op Society #1 Gin, Richards Memorial Hospital, and Cottle County FSA Committee. Upon retirement, he moved to Canton, TX, where he was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church.
Services will be held on Saturday, January, 6, 2024, at 10 am at Eubank Funeral Home Chapel, 27532 State Hwy 64 Canton, TX 75103. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at 9 am.
