Grace Maurice Stevenson

Grace went home to the Lord on February 18, surrounded by her caring family. She was born in Vivian, Louisiana on September 18, 1926, to Augustus and Bessie (McLendon) Ivins. Grace was a very kind, caring individual who loved to do anything for anyone. To her family, she was known by the nickname “Pris” given to her by her brother, Charlie. Grace enjoyed spending time with friends and met the love of her life in Bill Stevenson who she married on October 12, 1947. They were blessed with 61 years together. Grace was a wonderful wife and mother. She loved to cook and travel with her family. Grace was a member of the First Baptist Church of Canton since 1964.

Grace is survived by her beloved daughter Marcia Thornburgh and husband, Jimmy; sister-in-law, Mary Mercedes; nieces: Charla Aston and Marilyn Ivins.

She is preceded in death by her cherished husband, Bill Stevenson; parents, Augustus and Bessie Ivins; brothers: Hooper Ivins and Charles Ivins.

Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to service.
