Ernestine Janes Taylor

Ernestine passed away peacefully at Christus Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler, TX under the loving care of Hospice of East Texas on August 3, 2020.

She was born August 28, 1928 near Quinlan, TX to William H. Pierce and Bertha M. Fisher.

Ernestine lived in Van Zandt County her whole life. She married Woodrow Janes July 31, 1948 in Eustace, TX and they spent 37 years together before his death in 1985. She had a servant's heart and loved to help and feed others. Ernestine loved shopping with her daughters and telling life stories. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Canton for 62 years. Ernestine married the second love of her life, Calvin Taylor, June 21, 1996.

She is survived by her Husband, Calvin Taylor; Daughter, Glenda Cheatham; Daughter, Kimmie & Bob Sanders; Nephew\Son, Wayne & Peggy Pierce; Grandson, Christopher & Tina Jones; Granddaughter, Jennifer & Sam Snyder; Grandson, Dustin & Heather Sanders; and Great-Grandchildren: Cameron, Tristan, Kassidy & Triston, Aubrey, Natalie, Kian, Cooper and Cash.

Ernestine is preceded in death by her Parents, William & Bertha Pierce; Husband, Woodrow Janes, Stepson, Andy Taylor; Stepdaughter, Lea Ann Henley; Brother, Joe Pierce, Sister, Ruby Crawford; Brother, Leon Pierce; Sister, Mary Lee Gay; Brother, Jack W. Pierce; and Twin Sister, Christine Pierce.

Honorary pallbearers will be Christopher Jones, Sam Snyder, Dustin Sanders, Richard Gipson, and Michael Neusch.

Interment will be at Haven of Memories in Canton, TX.
