Don passed away peacefully on October 6, 2022 in Tyler, Texas. He was born on September 18, 1953 in Decatur, Illinois to Lyman Bohannon and Gladys Lyon Bohannon.
Don grew up in Washington State. As soon as he was old enough he enlisted in the Marines. He later joined the Army, where he became a mechanic and would stay until retiring in 1992. Don was Christian by faith and attended the Canton Church of Christ. When relaxing you could find Don watching westerns with John Wayne or a James Bond movie, with his dogs by his side. Don was a quiet man who loved the Lord, his family and serving his country. He will live on in the hearts and memories of all that knew and loved him.
Don is preceded in death by his parents, Lyman and Gladys Bohannon; daughter, Rennie Holloway; great grandson, Karsen Lee Chandler; siblings, Nick Bohannon, Larry Bohannon, Bill Bohannon, Debra Watkins and Val Jordan.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Belinda Odom Bohannon; children, Shannon (Calvin) Chandler, Beth (Michael) Pierce, Joshua (Jessica) Holloway, Bill Holloway, Kelley Bohannon, Stefi Bohannon and Hellen Bohannon; grandchildren, Cheyenne Mason, Dean Mason, Preston Holloway, Sarabeth Holloway, Kylie-Jo Holloway, Robert Pierce; sister, Barbara (David) Carlson and many nieces, nephews and other loved ones.
The family will receive visitors on Saturday, October 15, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
