He grew up in Laird Hill, TX and graduated from Leverett's Chapel High School. David attended Kilgore Junior College. When he was younger he worked in the oil fields and later lived in the Dallas area. David was an A/C technician by trade. In his spare time he loved fishing and shooting pool.
David was stern but fair man - most of all he was honest. David believed a man was only as good as his work and lived by it. He was first to congratulate you for your accomplishments and first to correct you if he thought you were wrong. David worked hard and played hard. He enjoyed life and made sure everyone around him did the same. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie Birdsong; sons, Donald and Toni Birdsong, Ronald and Allison Birdsong; step-daughter, Tammy and Clint Williams; grandchildren, Dakota, Hallie, Heather, Jayden, Ashley, Collin and Austin; great grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Addi; brothers, Jack Birdsong and Larry Birdsong.
David is preceded in death by his parents, Arlett and Katherine McClung Birdsong.
