A visitation followed by a funeral service will be held for Carol Ann Hatfield, 91, of Canton, Texas on December 29, 2023 starting at 10:00 a.m., service at 11:00 a.m. at Eubank Funeral Home, Bro. Mike Roberson officiating.
Carol Ann passed away peacefully on December 20, 2023. She was born on July 24, 1932 in Cooper, Texas to the late Charles Austin and Viola Slough Craven.
Carol Ann married J. L. Hatfield on June 5, 1949. They had two sons, Gary and Danny, and enjoyed spending their time watching the boys' car races. Later, they spent many hours on the road traveling all over the United States in their motorhome, often with several grandkids in tow.
Carol Ann or Mamaw, as most knew her, loved to cook, sew and spend time with her family and friends. Nothing delighted her more than when the whole family sat down to eat one of her delicious homemade meals. She spent countless hours sewing clothes for the grandkids and great-grandkids to wear on their first days of school or matching outfits for the granddaughters to wear. She was happy to pick up the grandkids and great-grandkids from school every day and would always have a chocolate milkshake or frosty ready and waiting. At home you could find her watching a "Cowboy" with her sidekick, Rachel. She was a devout Christian and enjoyed attending her Bible study group and church every week. One of the things she was most known for was her love of cooking and baking. She was always looking for a reason to bake an Italian Cream cake. Mamaw wanted to live out her life for others and for the Lord; she will be ecstatic to now celebrate with Papaw, her beloved sister, Merilee and her mom.
Carol Ann is survived by her sons, Gary (Judy) Hatfield and Danny Hatfield; grandkids: Kristin Mora, Rachel Hatfield, Eric (Nicole) Hatfield, Bryce (Karly) Hatfield; great grandkids, who were all special in Carol's heart: Erica Wiggins, Ali Naimo, Gabe Hatfield and Madelyne Hatfield; a host of other family and friends.
Thankful for Friends and Family: sisters-in-law, Faye Hatfield, who went to Heaven together, Georgia Hatfield; Debbie and Steve, Donna and Vaughn, Serretta Appleton, Wayne Hatfield and Tonda Hatfield; All clergy, for many prayers; all hospice staff.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Viola Craven; beloved husband, J. L. Hatfield; many other dear and loved family members.
