She was born October 19, 1977 in Wilmington, Delaware to Gayle and Dale Perne'. Shannon was a 1996 graduate of Sylvania Southview High School, and attended Michigan Christian College in Rochester, MI where she met her husband, Bill with whom she sang in the MCC acapella chorus. Shannon was the mother of four adopted special needs kids, and was active in Canton Challenger Baseball. Prior to adopting their children, Shannon and Bill were foster parents to troubled teenage girls, and had a profound impact on their lives. Despite her numerous health issues, Shannon was always present for her children, friends, and family. She handled herself with grace and dignity when her world seemed to be crashing around her, but she always reached out to others when their worlds were crashing down around them. Shannon was a member of the Northwest Church of Christ in Canton, Ohio. She was very active in the ceramic community, especially the Christmas trees, and shared her talents with many.
She is at peace, pain free, and waiting for the rest of us to join her some day. She was dearly loved and will be missed so much, but our memories of her will sustain us until we meet again.
Shannon is survived by her husband of 22 years, William "Bill" Simons; children, William Isaac Jordyn Simons, Dawson Jaymes Elijah Simons, Jackson Henry Perne' Simons, Emmalynn Gean Marie Simons; parents, Gayle and Dale Perne'; sister, Shawn (TJ) Singer; parents-in-love, Angela and David Simons; brother-in-love, Rob (Christina) Simons; nieces and nephews, Eddie, Madisyn, and Chloe Singer, and Zoe and Zane Simons.
