Rosalie Babich

Rosalie (Ro) Babich, 90, passed away with family at her side on Wednesday, December 23 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Ro was born on March 17, 1925 in Walholding, Ohio to Stella and Lester Cooper. She moved to the Canton area shortly after graduating high school. She was a cashier at Fisher Foods for 27 years where she met Mike, a customer who became her husband and the love of her life.

After they both retired, in 1987, they opened Ro’s Custard Creations on South Main Street in North Canton, which remains a thriving business to this day.

Ro was preceded in death by her husband Mike and sister, June Davis. She is survived by her sisters, Joy (Carl) Besst, Judy (Jack) Lowe, and Jill McMillan, her children, Mark (Becky) Clark of Canton, and Jan (Denny) Albert of Clinton, step-children, Marc Babich of Cuyahoga Falls, Helene Babich of Columbus, and Diane (Gary) Sutch of Ramona, California, 10 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the staff at Harbor Lights Hospice, especially Janet, for the wonderful care they provided.

A private family service will be held Monday, December 28.
