Peggy Thomas

Peggy was born October 7, 1944, in Canton, Ohio to Otto Eugene and Mary (Beatty) Neel. She graduated from Lehman High School in 1962 and went on to graduate from Timken Mercy with her License Practical Nursing (LPN) degree on May 2, 1967. She married Christopher C. Thomas on February 18, 1967. Together they have three children and shared 52 years of love, family, and countless memories.

Peggy worked as an LPN at Timken Mercy Medical Center for over 35 years caring for others. She was a devoted Christian and member of her church, Zion Lutheran in North Canton, for over 45 years where she volunteered her time to the church clothing closet and food pantry. Her infectious laugh and fun-loving personality was adored by all who met her. With her family she shared her passion, love and respect for the ocean. Peggy’s hobbies included reading, traveling, playing cards with friends and spending time with her family, mostly her grandchildren.

Peggy is survived by her devoted husband, Christopher C. Thomas, their three children: Stacey (Mike) Lessick, Chris (Cathy) Thomas and Mary (Chad) Kennedy; seven grandchildren: Allie, Madeline, Shawn, Carson, Heather, Isabella, and Abigail; two great grandchildren: Andrew and Penelope; her brother, Jim (Brenda) Neel: nephew, Jim (Stacy) Neel and their three daughters; niece, Michelle Neel; and countless cousins and extended family.

Funeral services will be held on Monday at 12:00pm in the Karlo-Libby Funeral Home. Interment will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Friends may call on Monday from 10:00am – 12:00pm, two hours before services at the funeral home. The family will receive family and friends at Zion Lutheran Church for a celebration of Peggy’s life with food and remembrances after the service at the cemetery.
