Born in Brooklyn, NY in 1931, he was a member of the “Saxons”, a club formed by a group of his sixth grade classmates. The club remained in force throughout high school and the men stayed best of friends throughout their lives.
After graduating Brooklyn College, Robert went to Officer’s Candidate School in Newport, RI and served three years as a Naval Officer during the Korean War.
After his military service, he became a businessman in the food industry, raising four children in the Boston area. He remarried in 1982 and retired to Cape Cod in 2002.
He was an artist at heart and throughout his life sketched, painted and even developed an interest in digital art in his later years.
He is survived by his wife, Gail Jacobs (Coutts), his four children and six grandchildren.
