Lila, his beloved wife of 68 years, was by his side. At 94, he had no regrets. He and Lila shared love for their twin daughters Freda and Jodie Shapiro and their partners, daughter Jane Kostick and husband Benjamin, grandchildren Jared, Naomi, and Michaela. He was successful in business but he truly lived for Lila and family, followed by food, more food, friends, golf, cards, politics, travel, Verdi, and business. He loved his mother, Anna Shapiro, and brother Allan Spencer dearly. His nephews and their wives, David and Stacey Spencer, Craig and Debbie Spencer, Jack and Marlene Spencer will miss him always. His friends from Seagate, Marblehead, Swampscott, Boynton Beach have good stories to tell, cruises and poker games to remember with Irwin. He was kind, generous, a gentleman — and irreplaceable.
Services will be private. Donations in his honor can be made to Jewish Family Service of Metrowest, jfsmw.org.
