Alvin M. Barber, of Randolph, formerly of Brockton, age 79. Entered into rest March 20, 2012. Beloved husband of Carol (Cohen) Barber. Dear son of the late David and Lillian Barber. Devoted father of Jo-Ann Supinski and husband Steven of Brockton and Donna Neary and husband William III of Bridgewater. Loving brother of Marilyn Glick of Ashland and Rose Glaser of Lexington. Cherished grandfather of Michelle Frederick and husband Tom of Brockton, David Supinski and fiancée Danielle Canale of Whitman, Jonathan Supinski of Brockton, and Alexander Neary of Syracuse, NY. Adored great-grandfather of five great-grandchildren. Also survived by dear sister-in-law and brother-in-law Helene and Melvin Fink of Brockton, one nephew, and three nieces. Former owner of Signs O’Life in Boston. Past president of the Massachusetts Sign Association. Past president of Temple Israel in Brockton. Member of Jewish War Veterans of the U.S.A., the 100 Club, Knights of Pythias, and the Masonic Lodge. Member of the board of directors for Teen Challenge. Funeral service at Stanetsky Memorial Chapel, 475 Washington Street, Canton on Thursday, March 22 at 9:30 AM. Interment at Sharon Memorial Park, Sharon. Memorial observance will be at the home of Jo-Ann and Steven Supinski following interment until 8:00 PM, Friday from 1:00 to 4:00 PM, and Saturday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM.
