Joanne Louise Schaefer

She was born in Pittsburgh, PA and moved to Burbank, CA at the age of 4.

Joanne married her husband, Bob in 1959 and they moved to Lake Balboa, CA. Joanne was a loving mother to her three sons, Bobby (Lauren), Michael (Michelle) and Steven (Deanna). Her memory lives on with her grandchildren: Brandon, Erica, Danielle, Madison, Makenna, Delaney and Joshua. Great grandchildren: Lily, Mason, Sage, Raelyn and Immanuel.

Joanne worked for many years at Reseda Shade company and spent many hours volunteering at different organizations, especially the Olivas Adobe in Ventura, CA. She enjoyed everything she did from painting, collecting, wood carving to traveling, taking classes, making new friends.

Joanne was a beautiful soul who would help anyone. Her radiant smile lit up any room and she never knew a stranger. She lived life to the fullest, never said no to an adventure and especially loved spending time with her family and many friends. She leaves a legacy of family, kindness, laughter, song and dance.

We’re sure that in Heaven, Joanne will give a big hug to Bob, then go to the Rainbow Bridge where Bailey will be waiting.

A funeral service for Joanne will be held Thursday, December 26, 2024 at 11:30 AM at Gates, Kingsley & Gates Praiswater Mortuary, 6909 Canoga Ave., Canoga Park, CA 91303.

Joanne will be laid to rest in Oakwood Memorial Park, 22601 Lassen Street, Chatsworth, CA 91311.
