Florence Sorbey Mitchell

Born in Listuguj on February 22, 1933, daughter of the late Nicholas Sorbey and the late Emily (Metallic) Sorbey.

When she wasn’t helping her husband run their family business Mitchell and Germain, she was a loving housewife who took care of their four children.

She is survived by her daughter, Theresa Mitchell of Listuguj; her daughter Karen (Jerry) Wysote of Listuguj; son Anthony “Tony” (Marlene) Mitchell Jr. of Listuguj and Daughter-in-law Gwen Wysote of listuguj; her grandchildren, Shane Williamson, Stephanie (Clinton) Huber, Felicia Mitchell, Bradley (Shanya) Barnaby, Rachel Barnaby, Gabriella Mitchell, Nadia Wysote and Curtis Mitchell. Her great grandchildren, Lauryn Mitchell, Mila Huber, MacKenzie Huber and Kendall Barnaby. Many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Atuen; one brother Myles Sorbey; and son Randy Michell. She is also survived by her relatives Joseph Sorbey, Edward Sorbey, Elizabeth Sorbey, and Vivian Sorbey-Mitchell.

A funeral service will be held at the Listuguj Community Development Centre on Friday August 6th at 3:00 pm.

Visitation at Maher’s Funeral Home, 33 Lansdowne St., Campbellton on Thursday from 7-9 and on Friday from 2:00 pm until time of funeral.
