Born in Upsalquitch on October 11, 1921, daughter of the late William Main and Nina Mann.
She is survived by her daughters; Esther Murray, Carmen Noye, Lois Moran (Bob), Glenda Boudreau (David), sons; Sheldon Murray (Elizabeth Savoie), Bill Murray (Ann),11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren, son-in-law Paul Thomas, sisters; Helena Savoie (Aurele), Mona Regan and Leata Hutson, brothers; Mel Main (Sue), Delbert Main (Sandra) and sister-in-law Adeline Main.
Besides her husband Hardy Murray, she was predeceased by her daughters; Jean Murray, Donna Thomas, son-in-law Boyd Noye, sister Elseleita Harris and her brothers; Eric, Bill and Milton Main.
Edie and Hardy raised their 8 children in Upsalquitch with much love and laughter.
Edie worked as a cook at the Watiqua ll salmon club until her retirement in 1985.
Edie or Mom as she was affectionately known as by her family friends alike, will be remembered as a loving and caring mother, grandmotherly and friend. She was a great cook and would try to feed anyone who came through her door. She loved to bake for her family and friends. She made the best homemade bread, doughnuts and pies.
She lived to be 100 years and 8 months, but to her family that wasn’t long enough. She will be forever missed.
Visitation at the Maher’s Funeral Home, 33 Lansdowne St., Campbellton on Monday July 4th from 7:00 to 9:00 pm and on Tuesday from 10:00 am until time of service.
A funeral service will be held at Maher's Funeral Chapel, 64 Lansdowne St., Campbellton on Tuesday, July 05 at 11:00 am
