October 23, 1952 - August 10, 2024
Born in Vancouver BC, and growing up in Burnaby, Pat enjoyed the outdoors and sports, including baseball, scouting, and participating in the wrestling team in school. Following school days Pat enlisted in the Navy hoping to see the world through his career. He was a sonar specialist, diver and welder. He later worked around the province of BC in Mackenzie, Port Hardy (where he also served as an Alderman), Courtenay and Campbell River as a Mill Wright retiring August 2016.
Many happy summers of Pat’s youth were spent camping around BC, with his parents and sister, visiting many extended families on annual summer excursions. This fostered a love of the outdoors which carried into his adult years.
Pat adored his children and shared his outdoors spirit with them. Bouncing in a truck down a dry creek bed, sailing the Salish Sea or adventuring on logging roads just for fun were a hallmark of his playtimes.
Pat is predeceased by his father George Henry Leonard (Len) Cadden and Dorothy Marie (LaBelle) Cadden of Burnaby and his partner Laurie Ann Raga of Campbell River. His son Travis (Julia) and their daughter Katya of Courtenay, his daughter Melanie and her sons CJ and Zach of Nanaimo and his sister Maureen of Courtenay, continue to feel the love of his generous spirit. Pat is also survived by many extended and stepfamily members and lifelong friends who he cherished.
Plans for a Celebration of Pat’s life will follow.
