Dianne Leslie Blakeman

It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the loss of Dianne Blakeman; wife, mom, grandma, sister, cousin, aunt & friend. She passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday morning surrounded by her loving family.

Mom was the matriarch of our whole family, everyone always gathered at Mom and Dad's place.

Mom grew up in Vancouver where she met my dad, Bruce, the man of her dreams in 1960 and they were married in 1962.

Mom had a varied career; modelling, retail and finance before moving to Campbell River in 1981 where we all took on new adventures. From city life to 5 acre hobby farm on York Rd., where Mom and Dad built their dream home.

After settling in, and a few years working at BMO, Mom started the best job she ever had, as an Educational Assistant, first at Phoenix, and then at Timberline when it opened until her retirement in 2009. She was affectionately known as "Mrs. B". The kids all loved her and she loved them.

Mom adored her 4 grandkids and really enjoyed watching them play their various sports ~ soccer and lacrosse games, gymnastics meets, swim meets and dance performances.

Together Mom and Dad enjoyed camping in their younger days, then came boating and travelling and they always loved to dance! Mom also loved her enormous garden, her pets, and a little sewing when she had some spare time.

"I've lived a great life married to a wonderful man that loved to travel and dance. I have amazing kids and grandkids that have brought me so much joy and made me so proud. I have so many wonderful memories of all my family over the years and of all my wonderful friends."

Mom is predeceased by her soul mate and our Dad Bruce, infant sone Dan and her sister Arlene. She leaves to mourn her daughter Deanna (Sean) Arbour, son Kim, Brother Gord (Chris) Schofield, grandkids Hayden, Taylor, Kelsea, and Corson and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

No service by request. In lieu of flowers, it was Mom's wishes to have donations made to The Children's Hospital and the Campbell River Hospital.
