Rose was born on April 23, 1933, in the small coal town of Gallitzin, PA, to the late Harry Bruce and Mary A. (Zimberlin) Waite.
She is preceded in death by the great love of her life, her husband, Thomas J. Irvine; her sister, Mary M. Polly; and her brothers John B. Waite and William F. Waite.
Surviving Rose are her four children: Kathleen I. Wellman of Harrisburg, PA; Stephen T. Irvine and wife Ebe of York Springs, PA; Diane I. Lewis and husband Ronald of Mechanicsburg, PA; Patricia M. Conrad and husband Michael of Mechanicsburg, PA, and seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Before Rose married, she worked in the office of the American Can Company in Lemoyne, PA.
She married her husband Tom in 1955 and after having their first child, she dedicated her life to her family. She was a devoted mother and wife, and was involved in all her children’s activities. Over her life, she enjoyed many different kinds of music, ceramics, books & puzzles, playing cards with her friends, and a hot cup of tea with family, neighbors, and old friends who frequently stopped by to see her. Her beautiful personality and smile, kind ways, selflessness, and friendliness came naturally to her. She enjoyed her happy marriage for 46 years and lived her faith daily by her kindness shown to all she encountered. She was happiest holding one of her children, grandchildren, or great-grandchildren in her loving arms. She will be deeply missed by all who loved and knew her.
A visitation for Rose will be held on Monday, March 28, 2022 from 9:30-11 a.m. at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 3435 E. Trindle Road, Camp Hill, PA. Mass of Christian burial will begin at 11 a.m. with a luncheon to follow in the Church Hall. A private burial will take place at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA.
