Richard Edward Campbell, born on June 24, 1936 passed away peacefully on September 19, 2024 at the age of 88. A devout husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, Richard is remembered for his kindness, integrity and unwavering Christian witness.
Richard was born in Durham, North Carolina and he eventually migrated to Maryland, where he met the love of his life, Ann Miller on her front stoop in Baltimore City and quickly became a beloved member of the Miller family. Richard and Ann were married in 1956.
He served honorably in the U.S. Navy, being stationed in Cuba during the late 1950s, a time that shaped his character and commitment to service. Following his military service, he dedicated 30 years of employment to American Airlines, where he built strong relationships and was esteemed by his coworkers.
Richard had a natural curiosity about the world and never wanted to stop learning, even into his 80s. He enjoyed various hobbies throughout the years, including fishing, hunting, crabbing and golf and was an avid fan of the Baltimore Orioles.
A devout Christian, Richard found strength and solace in his faith, which guided him throughout his life, particularly upon the death of his cherished son, Richard James Campbell, in 2011. His smile, kind eyes, and loving spirit will be sorely missed by his wife, Ann, daughters Carol (David) Henning and Sharon (Michael) Newton, grandchildren Meagan (Tyler) Younts, Lauren (Juan) Arrieta, Ashley (Jonathan) House, Sarah (Nate) Black, Cole and Sage Newton along with 11 great grandchildren, brothers and sisters in law and nieces and nephews. His family takes heart in the knowledge that he is with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for eternity and they will one day be reunited with him in heaven.
