After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Rachel went to be with Jesus, at the age of 28, on January 20, 2023.
Rachel had a love for the arts. She blessed her family and friends with beautiful piano playing, singing, embroidery, sewing, painting, cake decorating... if it had the potential to be beautiful, her hands could make it so.
She graduated with honors from University High, Fresno, in 2012.
She chose to go to college at California Baptist University in Riverside, where she met and fell head over heels in love with John Grima. While there, she was part of a traveling school choir, and she went overseas on a mission trip. Alongside her studies, she worked as an assistant to an online career coach training program.
Though she was diagnosed with soft part alveolar sarcoma in her sophomore year, she pressed through and graduated with honors in Christian Studies in May 2016. She was an amazing speaker, and felt in her heart a call to minister to women.
She married John Patrick Grima, the love of her life, in May 2016. They soon moved from Riverside to Fresno, CA. Together they enjoyed small hikes, playing games, time with friends and family, studying the Bible, worshipping the Lord Jesus and volunteering at their church, and being best friends.
In December 2019, John and Rachel moved to Pennsylvania for the great adventure of John's new job. Rachel created her own online business as a website consultant to young companies and her business thrived.
As Rachel's needs increased in 2022, her mom and dad moved to Pennsylvania to help in her care. Rachel passed away at home, surrounded by her loved ones.
Rachel is predeceased by her grandparents, Glenn and Margaret McDonald, her grandparents, Harold and Esther Johnson, and her father-in-law, Wil Grima.
Rachel is survived by her husband, John Grima, her parents, Steve and Myrna McDonald, her mother-in-law, Sylvia Grima, her sisters-in-law, TK Grima, Jenna Grima, Felicia Rodgers, her brother-in-law, Amon Rodgers, loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and the many who have prayed faithfully for her.
A visitation will be held Friday, 1/27/2023 from 6-8pm and again Saturday, 1/28/2023 at 10am prior to an 11am service at the Neill Funeral Home; 3401 Market Street, Camp Hill, PA 17011.
Burial will be held following the funeral service at Chestnut Hill Cemetery; 327 N. Winding Hill Road, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.
