She met Gordon Jones on a double date and soon after they were married May 23, 1956. They had 2 daughters, Tabitha and Pamela, who died at childbirth.
They purchased a home on the Conodoguinet Creek in Camp Hill in November of 1959. They shared this home for 46 years until Gordon’s death in March 2005. Lucille continued to live in the same house for a total of 65 years.
Lucille loved to garden and she loved her pet cats and dogs. She was always willing to be a pet babysitter for her neighbors and would not accept any payment. Lucille loved country music and she had a great sense of humor. She was always willing to share what she had with anyone in need.
Lucille believed in Jesus. She was water baptized in the Church of God in October 2016. She loved going to church and she looked to God for His help.
She was preceded in death by her parents Willie & China and her husband Gordon and her siblings: Charles, Cluster, Ruby, Virginia, Marie, Lois, Hazel and 3 others who died at an early age. She is survived by her nieces and nephews: Kelles, Linda, Jackie, Mary and Kelles (Pete).
A graveside service will be held at a later date at her family cemetery in Ages KY.
