She was born January 29th, 1945 in Shamokin, PA to the late Harry and Emily (Wolfgang) Ervin. She grew up in the Paxinos area, coming to Harrisburg in 1963 to earn a business degree at what is known today as Central Penn College.
Carol began her career converting black and white images to color for what is now CBS 21 and then worked in the PA State Senate. After getting married in 1969, she began her true life’s passion—becoming a mother to her four children. As they got older, she went back to work at the PA Bar Institute and then spent the next two decades working as an executive assistant in the insurance industry. She loved to paint lighthouses and landscapes. When not painting she loved art and crafts, making Halloween costumes, baking and decorating holiday cookies, taking pictures and making scrapbooks. When traveling she and Jim would visit lighthouses up and down the east coast, especially in Florida.
She is survived by her loving husband, Jim Miller of Dillsburg, and their three children: two sons, Scott and his wife, Christy, and their two children, Ashley and Ben, of Dillsburg; Tod and his wife, Kara, of Imperial, PA, and a daughter, Karen Marinari, her husband, Dan, and their son, Gio, of Ijamsville, MD. Also surviving is her brother, Harry Ervin, of Avon Park, FL.
She is preceded in death by her son Brian Miller, who passed in 2018.
In lieu of a traditional service, this Friday, the family will be gathering intimately to share our love and memories of Carol.
