Born March 20, 1940, in Homestead, PA. Charlie is survived by his wife of 30 years, Debbie (Depew) Stahara and his beloved fur babies Dutchess and Prissy; daughter, Lori (Kristy Burkhart) Stahara of Morgantown, WV; son, Bob (Renee Gaydos) of North Huntington, PA; stepchildren, Melissa (Marc) Vallino of Spring City, PA, Michael Ost of Salisbury, NC, and Morgan (Joel) Bookamer of Mechanicsburg, PA. Grandchildren Eli, Drew, and Luke Stahara of Morgantown, WV, Mitch, Tyler and Zachary Stahara of Bethel Park, PA, Haylie, Jack, Max, Marley and Sam Vallino of Spring City, PA, Brayden, Caleb, and Emma Bookamer of Mechanicsburg, PA. Son 1.5 Paul (Sally Gordon) Getsy and family, Nicole, Chelsea, and Andrew (Delaney) Getsy and bonus son John (Linda Squires) Walters of Pittsburgh, PA.
Charlie was preceded in passing by his mother Mary (Peaches) and his aunts Helen and Pauline Latzy.
Charlies was employed by Kroger’s for 25 years starting in his teens as a bag boy and rising to Regional Manager. He then became the owner operator of Bells Market and Bartholomew’s/Debbie’s Hallmark, Wellsville, NY, along with Debbie’s Hallmark, Zellienople, PA. He travelled the USA and the world, including Spain and Russia, enjoying every journey.
A classic Pittsburgh Hunky, Charlie loved all things Pittsburgh, especially the Steelers. Later Charlie adopted the Buffalo Bills as his second NFL love. Charlie was an avid fisherman, reader, lover of family, and proud Grandpa/Pap-Pap. All who knew and loved him were his lifelong audience of every Bad Dad joke ever told again and again and again.

A time of gathering will be held on Saturday October 19, 2024 from 1:00-2:00 at Neill Funeral Home; 3401 Market Street, Camp Hill, PA 17011. Memorial service will take place at 2:00pm.
A secondary memorial service will be held on November 9, 2024 at 11:00am at St. Agnes Church, Irwin, PA 15642. Lunch and bowling will take place afterward at the Herminie VFW from 12:00-2:00pm; 501 Church Street, Herminie, PA 15637.
