William "Bill" Lloyd Woods, aka "Pops" passed away peacefully on December 22, 2020 at the age of 79.
Born and raised in the mining town of New Waterford, Cape Breton. With deep historical roots in Cape Breton as the grandson of the late coal miner William Davis, he never forgot his roots as he would sing "Sixteen Tons" to whomever would listen. William served his country with the Canadian Armed Forces and retired after his 20 years of service. Upon completing his service, William worked as a salesperson where his personality, charm and presence became his trademark. William was known to many as Pops, and his lasting impression will surely carry on. Predeceased by his loving wife Elizabeth Woods, survived by his son William Woods and family; RIP Pops.
Cremation has taken place and there will not be a service at this time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
