She loved travel, roller coasters, sappy love songs, driving with her foot on the dash, waterfalls, cheesy chick flicks, strawberry daiquiris, repeating herself, making Jello shooters for her friends, chilling in her backyard by the pool, swimming in the ocean, surprise weekends away and long walks on late summer nights. Most of all though, she adored and would do anything for her family and friends. Shelley always gave unconditional love to everyone in her life. She was passionate about her work at Family and Children Services of Waterloo Region where she helped countless families through difficult times. We are blessed to have had her heart of gold in our lives and the world is a much better place because she was here.
Shelley will be missed by the love of her life Paul Mesman, her loving children Reid McLean and Serena McLean, her step-children Jeff Mesman (Nicole), Matthew Mesman (Stephanie) and Mitchell Mesman (Britney), her mother Sandra Kelly, her step-father David Kelly, her grandmother Margaret Bolton, her brothers Robin Dudley (Donna) and Ryan Dudley (Kathryn), her “step –seesters” Kim Daw (Brad), Keri Cadete (Nelson) and Kristin Lyle (Rich), her mother in-law Ardele Mesman, her father in-law Tom Mesman, her many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, brother and sister in-laws and her countless friends – you know who you are.
Shelley and her family would like to give a special thanks to the oncology team at Cambridge Memorial Hospital. You did everything you could and your compassion and professionalism were second to none.
In lieu of flowers, Shelley wanted you to consider making a donation to Lisaard House in her name. This wonderful place made Shelley and her loved ones comfortable during her final days.
Shelley’s Celebration of Life will be held at the T. Little Funeral Home, 223 Main Street, Cambridge (519-623-1290) on Saturday August 10, 2019 from 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm with speakers at 3:00 pm.
Shelley’s beautiful final message for us:
“I want my family and friends to know that I’m at peace, and not to be sad. My wish is that they live, love, laugh, enjoy life, keep having adventures and maybe take me along”.
