It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Rita Anna Daley, who died peacefully at Cambridge Memorial Hospital on July 2nd, 2013. She was 87. Rita was born in Formosa, Ontario on April 21, 1926. She moved to Galt and it was here she fell in love with Daniel Daley, married and raised a family. She was a proud mother of 7 and grandmother of 17. Her life was rich in love. Rita was predeceased by her husband of 56 years Daniel Daley Sr., who will be filled with joy to be reunited with her. Predeceased by her parents Joseph and Louise Ernewein, brothers Arthur, Lloyd and Irvin Ernewein and sister Mae Evans. There is no shortage of those who will miss her. Survived by brothers Leo and Harold Ernewein, sister Edna Van Sickle and sister in-law Irene Ernewein. Devoted mother of Laura Purdy (Bill), Daniel Daley Jr. (Jan), Judy O’Handley (Brian), Richard Daley (Judy), Terry Daley (Charmaine), Stephen Daley (Michelle), and Theresa Watson (Vic). Beloved grandmother of Steven, Sarah, Laurie, Matthew, Crystal, April, Mark, Mallory, Meagan, Tyler, Corey, Brendan, Michael, Krista, Jessica, Charlotte and Victoria. Rita worked at Allen Bradley in Cambridge for 18 years. She was a long time fan of the Toronto Blue Jays – win or lose. In her retirement she loved to travel and always enjoyed a good competition whether it was playing cards or Wii bowling. She will be remembered as a strong, selfless woman who gave everything she had to her children and grandchildren every day of her life. Losing her has broken our hearts. The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors at Cambridge Memorial Hospital for their exceptional care. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Ambrose Church, 210 South Street, Cambridge at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2013 followed by interment at Mount View Cemetery. Later at 2 p.m. a Celebration of her Life will be held at St. Luke’s Place – Stauffer Auditorium, 1624 Franklin Boulevard, Cambridge, Ontario. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Luke’s Place Foundation or St. Ambrose Church.
