On Friday December 1st 2023, John Pinchin of Cambridge, Ontario, passed away at the age of 87, survived by daughters Karen Pinchin, of Whistler, British Columbia, and Lisa Pinchin, of Boston, Massachusetts, as well as his grandson Michael Curtis, and Michael’s wife Emma Gilbert, of Bellingham, Washington, and John’s companion Elaine Anderson, of Cambridge, along with many cherished friends.
Born in Midland, Ontario, John graduated from the University of Western Ontario and received the Ontario Gold Medal as the top writer of the accountancy exams. He then established a successful accounting firm and later continued with various entrepreneurial endeavors.
His contributions to community and sports activities were recognized in 1984 when John received the Cambridge Sports Contributor of the Year award for his help in forming the Galt Terriers hockey team (later named the Cambridge Hornets), involvement in the establishment of the Can-Amera Games between Cambridge, Ontario, and Saginaw Township, Michigan, his support for the Cambridge track and field club and for providing the track facility at Southwood High School.
After living for decades in Florida, where he enjoyed golfing and boating with family and friends, John recently returned to Cambridge, Ontario.
Fun-loving and generous, John will be greatly missed.

Cremation has taken place, with the timing undetermined for a celebration of life for John’s family and close friends.
