years. She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Bob Osborn, along with a lengthy progeny of
8 children (Michael, Peter/Nancy, Dale/Bart, David, John/Enza, Tom, Jim/Gloria, Scott), 16
grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by one son, Brian.
As the matriarch, family and friends were always the most dear thing for Joan, and at any
gathering everyone knew she was there, not by seeing her, but hearing that distinctive belly
laugh that was always on the edge of her lips.
Joan filled many other roles throughout her life as well, establishing Osborn Insurance in
Cambridge where she successfully ran the business with Bob for 28 years. As an avid boater,
she also volunteered and taught Power Squadron, steering new boaters away from the rocks
that Bob hit.
Joan shared her love of life through her stories, her wonderful baking, and socializing with
anyone and everyone.
There will be a celebration of life, at the Barthel Funeral Home on Friday, October 4th from 4pm
- 8pm. Joan will be cremated and her remains will be interred in Paris Cemetery.
