Kerr-Adamson,Dorothy Scott. Dorothy Kerr-Adamson,mother, grandmother,great grandmother, step mother and really quite terrific golfer and curler, died peacefully at Queen’s Terrace, Cambridge on February 13, 2013 in her 101st year. Dearly beloved wife of the late Mac Adamson. Survived by her granddaughter Elaine Gilbert (Daniel) and great grandchildren Mackenzie, Wesley and Eli. Also survived by son Donald (Kate) and grandchildren Gabriel and Samuel; Elizabeth Robinson and grandchildren Jay, Marcus, Ryan, Tara and Alana; and son Murray Adamson, grandchild Mackenzie; daughter Barbara Allan and grandchildren Beth and David;and many more nieces and nephews who all cared for her deeply. Dorothy (Dot) was predeceased by husbands James Babcock and Henry Kerr, and sisters Jessie Whitla, Goldie Macaulay and Shirley Boettger. Dorothy enjoyed her life with zest and her soul was tested with the premature passing of her darling daughter Bette-Anne in 2005. Dot was a long time member of First United Church and in her youth took an active role in the leadership of the Sunday School. A member of the Galt Country Club since 1946, she was named an Honorary Member in 2007. She was recently honoured in the Galt Sports Hall of Fame for her many accomplishments in curling, golf, baseball, and for her role as founder of the Galt Figure Skating Club and the Galt Ladies Curling Club. An active community participant, Dot worked for Telecare (a crisis phone-in-service) and Pater, driving seniors to various appointments. She was a significant but quiet supporter of many local and national charities including the United Way. There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Service to celebrate Dorothy’s life at First United Church 15 Wellington Street, Cambridge on Friday February 15,2013 at 11 A.M.
