He was born in 1957 in Bacon, Sorsogon, Philippines. Villamor’s life was perhaps characterized by his immense devotion- to his faith, to his values, and above all else, his family. Villamor exhibited a thirst for knowledge and modeled the wonder of knowing. He eagerly studied English, philosophy, civics, math and sciences, earning two Bachelor degrees in Accountancy and Commerce, along with a Master’s degree in Business Administration. In addition, he completed both his Citizen Military and Army Training, was a Scottish Rite Freemason, and was a member of the Subic Bay Lions Club.
While highly academic and logical (some may say to a fault), Villamor had a soft heart and loved music, literature, and poetry. His ubiquitous sense of humor bordered on insanity- but in a household of similarly-minded individuals, it may have been the closest to “normal”. His comedic timing was second to none and his unpredictability made him that much funnier: Villamor did what he wanted to do and said what he wanted to say, when he wanted to do and say them.
Despite having this wild side, Villamor was also strict and unwavering in upholding his values, believing that it was his responsibility to treat all of those around him with respect and dignity. It is precisely this outlook on life that he leaves behind with his wife, Maria Angela, and children, Amor Angelica, Angelamor, and Oscarvill.
As we prepare to lay Villamor to rest, we are reminded of one of his favorite songs: 'Green, Green Grass of Home' by Tom Jones "Yes, they'll all come to meet me Arms reaching, smiling sweetly. It's good to touch the green, green grass of home"
We honor his long battle with heart disease by doing what it is he spent the majority of his life doing: living life to the fullest, with love, compassion and appreciation.
A Celebration Of Villamor's Life will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at 10:00 am at Foster’s Garden Chapel, 3220 4 Street NW, Calgary (across from Queen's Park Cemetery).
