Thuy Trong Tran passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, in Calgary, Alberta at the age of 59 years. He is honoured in memory by his wife of 32 years, Ngan, and three surviving children: Anthony, Scarlett and Albert.
Thuy was born in Saigon, Vietnam and bravely escaped the Vietnam War on boat. He spent his teenage years in Lethbridge, Alberta, before moving to Calgary to follow his career as an electronics technologist.
Thuy was a quiet, caring father, who loved bonding over meals and bright celebrations in family gatherings with his older sisters and their children. He was a dedicated son, who took care of his parents, Nhuan Tran and Doi Huynh, in their old ages.
Thuy enjoyed so much in life: outdoor work, French culture, Vietnamese music and performing arts. He was loved and cherished by many in his life, and will continue to be remembered as a warm figure.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at 5:30 p.m. with viewing and time of fellowship to follow from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Foster’s Garden Chapel (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) 3220 4 Street N.W. Calgary, Alberta.
