Our deepest condolences to the Porter family.  It was such a pleasure to live near Thelma and George for a number of years when our children were young.  They always made them feel so welcome. They always loved having a personalized Halloween trick or treat bag.  Thelma's laughter was beautiful and a little mischievous.  George always had such good little stories about Calgary and the war.  Your family will carry sadness for a long time and we are all thinking of you.  Patty, Don, Christopher , Rebecca and Alex.

Thelma, you will be missed. Every time I visited your home with Tanya, I was always welcomed. There was always such laughter and happiness, and I will never forget that. My sincere condolences go to all her family. Rest in peace.

Please accept our condolences on the loss of Thelma. We lived next door to Thelma in the early years and alway's enjoyed her company and visits as the years went by. May she now Rest in Peace.

Dear Grandma,
No words can express the hurt that I feel and no actions can fill the void left in my heart with your passing.

For 37 years, we spent our weekends with you. In many ways, I grew up in that house. Working in the greenhouse with Grandpa, sleeping over and having you come into our room at night with our special cups of water, playing lawn darts, decorating your Christmas tree every year, building birdhouses, transplanting marigolds, picking peas, yodeling, the Hawaiian guitar, playing the organ, Boxing day get together's, listening to you yell at the hockey games, we even brought our little league softball team to your house to celebrate our big tournament victory and 14 softball players sang into the early hours of the morning on your front lawn.....so many memories. You and grandpa would pick us up at school and take us for fries and gravy at K-mart and you never missed our baseball, softball, hockey and ringette games (and the refs were a bit sad about that!) I loved our DimSum lunch dates and hearing you call me sweetie every time you called me or when we talked. 

Then when I had my own babies, they too came, nearly every weekend and they too found magic in your little house. I am so grateful for the love you showed them and the memories you have helped them to build. They love you so much and always will.

You told me once that you were worried about how Parker and Sara would take your passing when it eventually came. They are so sad too. And like me they too are hurting now and a little bit lost but do not worry because you left us with so many memories that when the pain eases and the tears subside, the smiles will return again.

You were a great, great, lady who loved us all so much and were so greatly loved by all of us. You had a great life---long and without much pain and for that I am so thankful. I will miss you forever and always and I will never forget you. Please give grandpa a big hug from us all. We love you both so much.

You were a very special lady Thelma.  I will miss your wonderful sense of humor and the love you had for Jensen.  Jensen loved going to Great Grandma's house to visit.  Michael and I will miss you dearly and thanks for the memories!  RIP Thelma.  Love, Kristin XOXO
