Tat Hum Tang passed away on Monday, November 22 in Calgary at the age of 91. Mr. Tang was born on October 18, 1930 to Law Fun Hop and Tang Lup Hing in Hoiping, China. After moving his family to Calgary in 1981, he worked tirelessly in the hospitality industry to provide them with an abundance of opportunities.
No one who met Tat Hum forgot his infectious smile and cheerful personality. He was a devoted husband, hard worker, and most importantly, the person to bring his entire family together. He was consistently staying active and had a passion for swimming, navigating the busy downtown streets on his own, and cooking delicious meals for his family. Tat Hum was always selfless and made sure his wife, children, and grandchildren were taken care of before anything else. He was always surrounded by his loved ones and he will always be remembered for his kind eyes, big heart, and beaming smile.
He will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his loving wife, Ling Oi Tang; their children and their families, Yuk Sum Tang (Yue King Law), Huan Cai Tang (Hui Ling Yi), Randy Tang, Tony Tang (Chun Mei Guan), May Tang (Tom Chau), June Tang (Tom Ho); his grandchildren and their families, Sui Kam Law, Sui Lan Law, Yao Man Law, Fanny Tam, Kevin Tang, Danny Tang, Sam Tang, Jessica Krejcik, Martin Tang, James Chau, Terence Chau, Joycelyn Ho; and his six great-grandchildren.
A Private Funeral Service will be held at Foster’s Garden Chapel, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary, Alberta (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) with Interment to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
