Ryan Ronald Elle was born in Medicine Hat, Alberta on August 7, 1976. The family moved to a farm in the Seven Persons area when Ryan was 5. He loved life on the farm, trapping gophers, playing with the dogs and driving the ATV into the irrigation canal! Farm life came to an end when Ryan was 11 and the family moved to Calgary, where adjustments were made to city living.
Ryan became a gifted carpenter and everything he worked on portrayed his attention to detail and perfection. He enjoyed working with his hands and learning new skills. Mechanics came easy to him and he put his talents to work doing all his own automotive repairs and even accomplished getting a derelict army truck running.
Ryan was a kind, gentle and caring soul who always had time for others and would not hesitate to help in any way he could. He gave freely and willing of his time and talents. Family was of utmost importance to Ryan and whenever possible, he attended family gatherings and reunions.
Ryan loved the outdoors and especially the ocean. He enjoyed fishing and later took up hunting and target shooting. He met partner, Michael 11 years ago and she expanded his horizons to the game of golf as well as boating, water skiing and scuba diving. Diving became a real passion and joy for Ryan, and together the two of them had wonderful vacations and dive trips together exploring reefs, sea life and even diving with sharks.
Ryan put all his skills to task when he moved to Grand Cayman and took a gigantic leap into an unknown future. The construction world on a small island was a steep learning experience for him. For a brief time, he took a reprieve from that world and worked on a pirate ship as manager, first mate and mechanic. He was always drawn to the ocean.
He was thrilled to share his dive world with his son Aricin, to be part of instructing Aricin in achieving his Open Water Diving Certificate and to explore the ocean diving together in Cayman.
Ryan returned to Calgary amid Covid lock-down and was completing on-line university courses in management.
Ryan is survived by his parents, Ron and Lynda Elle; brother, Aaron and fiancée Shawna Dunn; son, Aricin; partner, Michael Ann Boyer; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and two step children.
Ryan’s bear hugs will be missed.
For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. ~ John 3:16
