My wife and I remember Randal as a very eager and active member of the bands of Calgary. We were very saddened to hear and send our condolences to his family members. Randal was well like by band members and the band staff. His mother became involved and spend many years as the uniform person.

You fought a courageous battle, with high spirits and always good humor.  You always made us feel as part of your family Randall.  We will miss you and we will keep you in our hearts always!  We love you friend!

I first met Randall when he and Sharie had just renewed an old friendship -  from grade seven if I remember correctly.  He was warm, open and even funny sometimes.  His kindness was just what I thought Sharie needed.  I was delighted as their friendship blossomed into a marriage.  I witnessed their courage as together they weathered storm after storm.
No life is without challenges, but the obstacles they seemed to encounter would have overwhelmed others.  As their family was enlarged through grit and determination, there was a cheerful acceptance of the challenges they faced together.  The gifts and opportunities that they provided their children were many and varied.  The successes were celebrated.  They valued the gift of time that they were given and lived making memories.
The example of courage in the face of seemingly overwhelming obstacles has been an inspiration to me.
I trust the Lord has a plan for each of our lives.  We make choices every day that impact the lives of those around us.
May the memory of Randall's courage and mindful acceptance remain as an inspiration to those left behind.  He has moved on.  He has completed his test.   We are blessed by his example.  
Remember... we never walk alone.


I am greatful to have met Randall. Despite fighting cancer, he always remained kind and strong, always helping and spending time with his family with a smile on his face. I don't remember a single time where he wasn't kind to me. He is an individual who's life is worth celebrating and cherishing! I send love to the family

To Randall's family and dearest friends I am sorry to hear of his passing. My sincerest condolences to you.

Somewhere I have an old Polaroid of two geeky kids in blue uniforms holding their trumpets. While initially I was not super happy with him roping me into the Roundup Band, it turned out to be a great thing and sowed the seeds of a friendship that would last over 40 years. 

Randall was the best friend a person could hope for and I deeply miss him. During our adult years there were many long stretches where we did not see each other. However when we got together it was like our friendship was immune to time and we would simply pickup where we left off.

Rest in peace my friend, until we meet again.

Randal, He always made me feel welcomed at his home, but most important, he always made me feel welcomed at his heart. 

Randall was a kind hearted warrior that fought one of the greatest foes for longer than anyone could ever have imagined. I’ll miss our chats and his friendship. 

 Thanks to his family for letting me be a part of his life at the end.

I am so sorry to hear of Randall’s passing. I remember him from our Stampede Band days many years ago. My sincere condolences to Sharie, Hennie, Deb and all of your family.
