It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our precious Mother, Mary Pickard on Friday, August 2, 2019 in Calgary, Alberta at the age of 91 years. She was born in December, 1927 in Mozart, Saskatchewan. Mary spent her formative years in Saskatchewan and Medicine Hat, where she met and married the love of her life, David Pickard, before moving to Calgary.
We were incredibly blessed to have such an amazing Mom. She was a loving, caring, kind and gentle soul. Her greatest joy was spending time with her loving sons and their families. Her greatest lesson was how to give selflessly by placing the needs of others before herself. Mary was dedicated to family and faith and she spent her life donating her time and energy to worthy causes.
She will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her three sons and their spouses David (Jacqueline), Philip (Tannis), Warren (Annie); and her seven grandchildren Jonathan, Alexandra, Makayla, Hannah, Chelsea, Joshua and Tyler.
Mary was predeceased by her husband in 2002; they will be reunited at Queen’s Park Cemetery during a private family interment.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Foster’s Garden Chapel at 3220 – 4 Street NW, Calgary, Alberta (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery), on Saturday, August 10 at 10:00 a.m.
Memorial donations in Mary’s name will be gratefully accepted by Rockyview Alliance Church at 6927 Rundlehorn Drive NE, Calgary, Alberta, T1Y 3V4.
