I just found out about Dr. Choi's passing when I called to make my yearly appointment. I am sooo saddened and send my deepest sympathies to his family, staff and friends.. Although I didn't see him too often, he treated me with dignity, respect and spent TIME with me in his very caring way. I am so so very sorry.

My sincere condolences to Dr. Choi's family, staff and friends. As a patient I felt Dr. Choi very compassionate; really taking care of his patients. It took three months for my condition to be diagonsed. Being referred to Dr. Choi he saw me within days and his looked after me for a substantianl number of years. His kindness will be remembered. Again my sincere condolences.


I tried to write a comment earlier but couldn't do it because the tears were too overwhelming.  Dr. Choi was so much more than just a Dr. to my daughter and myself.  He was her Guarding Angel and my security blanket.  I knew from the bottom of my heart that here was a Man that truly cared for his patients and always went above and beyond his calling! There will be no other Dr. that calls me at home early on a Sunday morning asking how my daughter is doing because his last thoughts before falling asleep the night before was focused on her...insisting that I call him on his cell and/or at home between clinic visits to give him updates on her status.

I will miss and mourn the loss of the most compassionate, kind and truly caring man that Dr. Choi was but will have solace knowing that he touched many peoples lives and made a difference in this world.

More importantly I would like to send my heartfelt condolences to Dr. Choi's family, friends and his staff.

Dr. Choi's face glowed when he spoke of his love of family on many occasions...I am very honored that he shared those precious moments with me and my daughter.  I must stop now because my tears once again are overflowing...

I was shocked and sad when I learned of the sudden passing of Dr. Vince Choi.  As a fellow rheumatologist in Alberta we were in the same rooms in two separate medical meetings sharing medical knowledge and learnings together just within the past few weeks.  Over the years even though we practised in different cities we have shared in the care of some patients with rheumatic diseases.  Vince was always responsible, caring and knowledgable in his care of our patients.  His sudden passing is indeed untimely.  My heartfelt condolences to his family.  Peter Chiu

Dr. Choi was my son's basketball coach.  Our team won the gold in March 2012.  We laughed together and cheered together, it all seems just like yesterday.  Dr. Choi helped our family a lot. He was the first coach Stone ever had a true player-coach relationship with. He taught Stone about the game of basketball in one season more than Stone had learned in the previous three seasons combined. Your smile and your words are always cherished in our hearts!
