Madeleine Parks

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our sister, Madeleine Parks, on September 13, 2015, in Airdrie, at the age of 93. Madeleine was loved by all and will be sorely missed. She was known for her lovely bright smile, her love of life and sheer determination to overcome many physical injuries she sustained over the past 15 years. Madeleine was born in 1922 in Castor, AB and lived out on the prairies until moving with her family to Caroline, AB in 1934. She had numerous interests and loved camping in her motor home before and after her husband’s death. Madeleine is survived by her two brothers Richard (Marilyn) Doel of Calgary and Ronald Doel of Caroline; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Arnold Parks in 1988, her sister Margaret and brother George. The family wishes to extend a Special Thanks to all the staff at Cedarwood Station Lodge in Airdrie for all their love and support while Madeleine was residing there in the past 7 years, and especially to our niece Georgette Wright for all her help over all the years; thank you very much. A Memorial Service will be held at the Woodside Seniors Club, 411 Woodside Drive N.W., Airdrie, AB, on Friday, October 2, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, if friends wish, donations may be made to Stars, 1441 Avation Park NE, Calgary, AB, T2E 8M7; Airdrie Food Bank, 20 East Lake Way, Airdrie, AB T4A 2J3; or to the charities of their choice.
