Leslie Ann Jack, beloved wife and soulmate of Russell Jack and wonderful mother to her son Cole-Oliver of Priddis Greens, AB, who passed away peacefully early hours of the morning July 8, 2020 at the young age of 60 years.
Leslie was born on 06 November 1959 in Clitheroe, Lancashire, UK to Harold and Ann Whitworth. In 1989 she left the UK to visit friends in South Africa knowing she would not be returning to the UK. Days after her arriving in South Africa we met and immediately fell in love and got married in 1992. We immigrated to Vancouver, Canada in 1997.
Leslie was known as a fighter and inspired others, not to give up, even when things looked bleak. She relied on God to give her unwavering strength, hope and courage each day to keep fighting “the big fight”.
She was a ray of sunshine, she lit up the room she was in and always brought a smile to the face of someone.
Russell and Leslie lived a beautiful life and had a passion for travel. Their most memorable vacation was in 2018 when they visited Bermuda.
Leslie was the most wonderful and protective mother to her son Cole. She loved spoiling him and being his protector and taking care of him in every way she could. She got the “Best Mom” award each year for the past 25 years.
Leslie loved horses and was an avid rider for most of her life and will be dearly missed by her horse Badger who loved and admired her, and she him.
Leslie loved been part of the Anglian congregation and bible study classes. Learning more of God’s ways and being able to get closer and to serve God in the best possible way.
Leslie was always supported and had a wonderful friendship with congregation members Dawn, Joan, Nancy, Sandra, Colin, Dmitri and Gabriela, Jan and Dorothy and Stephen. Her horse friends Ruth, Marge and Bernice not forgetting her lifelong friendship with Maxi and Alison who she grew up with in the UK.
The Jack family would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff, and the kind and wonderful Dr. E. Bland and her team of compassionate nurses and support group. Too many to mention by name, but we are very grateful that you took care and supported Leslie in room 504 at the Southwood Hospice, Calgary.
May God heal me, body and soul. May my pain cease, may my strength increase, may my fears be released, may blessings, love, and joy surround me. Amen.
