Larry Moser grew up in Mendham, Saskatchewan and attended the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1971. He worked with Pacific Petroleum at their Empress Gas Plant and their refinery in Fort St. John, BC before joining Delta Projects Ltd. in Calgary in 1976. His career spanned nearly 40 years advancing from Project Engineer through Project Manager, Manager of Engineering, Manager of Construction and Manger of Projects until his retirement in 2013.
From his childhood throughout his adult life, Larry excelled at and enjoyed sports, including baseball, hockey, racquetball, skiing, golf and water skiing. In any social group at any time, Larry was always judged by his peers as being the most fit person in the room.
In 1982 Larry married the love of his life Carol. They moved into the community of Woodlands overlooking Fish Creek Park where they raised two sons, Warren and Craig. The family also very much enjoyed time together at their cottage at Mara Lake, boating, water skiing, wakeboarding and golfing.
With his family, Larry attended South Calgary Community Church in Cedarbrae and throughout his life, he regularly studied the Bible. He was a person of integrity, known for his honesty and fairness in all aspects of his life.
Larry was prolific author of letters to the editor at the Calgary Sun on the various political topics of the day and was known to provide comments to radio talk shows from time to time which various levels of government would have done well pay heed. He also enjoyed the Thursday evening “choir practices” at the local pub and weekly breakfast meetings with his former co-workers after retirement.
Larry is remembered by his family and friends for his positive attitude, honesty, tenacity, and practical approach. He will be missed by his family and friends.
Larry is survived by his wife Carol; his son Craig; his brother Alvin, Clayton and Rodney and his sister Charlene. Larry was predeceased by his parents John and Mary, his son Warren, his sister Lorelei and his brother Ken.
Due to COVID-19 an invitation only Funeral Service will be held at South Calgary Community Church, (2900 Cedarbrae Dr SW), on Wednesday, November 25, 2020.
