Jean Mary Harrow passed away peacefully in Calgary on June 8, 2022. Jean was born in Mirror, Alberta to Roy and Mary Bromley on June 12, 1929, the second of six children. Jean will be remembered for her quiet kindness and simple ways of making people feel important. She had a fulfilling career as a unit clerk at Foothills Hospital. In her retirement she played golf, hiked, vacationed in Yuma, danced at the Legion and enjoyed time with her family and friends.
Jean will be forever loved and missed by her children Richard (Lynn) Harrow of Calgary, Marjorie (Larry) Thomson of Edmonton and Jack (Devon) Harrow of Calgary; her 9 grandchildren, Rikki, Robyn, Jamey, Jack (Larissa), Faye (Glen) Claire, Dana (Shane) Emma and Kate (Ryan); as well as her 12 great-grandchildren.
Jean was predeceased by her first husband Peter Gordon Harrow in 1982 and her second husband Kenneth Sutton in 2017 as well as her parents and two brothers, Henry and Robert Bromley.
Jean’s sisters, Olive McCullagh, Marjorie Doherty and Gerry Winick, all of Calgary, say goodbye to their dear Jean and look fondly back on their many adventures together. She will also be missed by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Garrison Green Care Home for their compassionate care and attention to Jean over the last two years and especially during the last days of her life.
A Service of Remembrance will be held for Jean at South Calgary Funeral Centre, 12700 Macleod Trail South, (at Lake Fraser Gate), on Wednesday, July 6 at 1:30 p.m.
