

Jim was born on March 3, 1944, in Calgary, Alberta, where he lived until his passing on Tuesday, August 20, 2019, at the age of 75.
He met To Ka in 1969 at work and they were married in 1980. Jim worked at the Calgary General and Alberta Children Hospitals (1968 – 2004), and subsequently at Bow View Manor, until his retirement in 2007. Jim loved the outdoors. He was a member of Ramblers Hiking Club for many years. He often recalled feeling God’s presence as he watched the serenity and beauty of God’s creation.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, To Ka, children Esther (Rex) Ding, John (Linda) The, Peter (Grace) The, 4 grandchildren & their spouses, 5 great-grandchildren, brother Pat Hall and family, nephew Richard (Doris) Hall, and numerous extended families. Jim will be lovingly remembered as a compassionate, gentle, kind, quiet and patient man, who loved his families and adored his great-grandchildren. Jim was predeceased by his parents, Blyth and James Leslie Hall, and his older brother, Herbert. He also enjoyed being with friends. He will be greatly missed.
A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, August 30, at 11 AM, at The Salvation Army Berkshire Citadel Church, 222 Sandarac Dr. NW, Calgary. Interment will be at Queen’s Park Cemetery, 3219 – 4 St NW, Calgary, following the service.
