Irene Ruth Martin was born in Linacre, Saskatchewan on April 5, 1930 and spent her childhood years in in Maple Creek, Saskatchewan. She then moved to Medicine Hat where she met and married her beloved husband, Arthur. Irene and Arthur raised a family of three sons (Charles, Robert and Colby) in Medicine Hat before moving to Calgary with their family in 1971 where Irene lived the rest of her life. While living in Calgary, Irene worked many years for the Calgary Board of Education before she retired.
Irene was an amazing woman and a very loving and caring mother and grandmother. She always looked out for and put the interests and needs of others before her own. In her retirement years Irene enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and friends, as well as playing bridge and cooking.
Irene is survived by her sons Arthur Charles Ruff (Calgary, AB) and Brian Colby Ruff (Calgary, AB); grandchildren Peter Ruff (Toronto, ON), Valerie Ruff Aboud (Brossard, QC), Justin Ruff (Calgary, AB) and Connor Ruff (Calgary, AB); and great-grandchildren Kherington, Daphne, and Brayden (Brossard, QC).
Irene was predeceased by her husband Arthur Larry Ruff 1991 (Calgary) and her son Robert Martin Ruff 2008 (Vancouver).
