Gisele Doreen Prefontaine

She will be lovingly remembered by her fiancé Tim Roth; daughters Danielle (Brent) Michie and Jennifer (Kirk) Furey; grandchildren Brinn, Skyler, Olivia and McKinley; siblings Raynald (late wife Lucille), Trish (Alec), Rose Marie (Doug), Donald (Linda), Denis, Laurel (Serena), Maurice, Harold (Leanne), Claude, Bobby, Allan (Robin); sisters-in-law Yvette (Vic), Rolande, Paulette (Jacques), Doris (Bob), and Helene (Lloyd) as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Leo and parents Oliver and Marie Paule Rivard.

Gisele was the fourth youngest of twelve children and grew up in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The family later relocated to Lorette, Manitoba, where she met her husband Leo Prefontaine.

Gisele was a vibrant, beautiful, funny and life-loving individual. She embraced every day with energy and enthusiasm. She brought life to a party and filled a room with laughter. She enjoyed golfing, travelling, music, dancing and dinner and wine with friends. She loved ferociously; was kind and loyal to those that were close to her. Gisele was a proud grammy and traveled to spend time with her grandchildren often.

Gisele retired from Mars Canada at the end of 2021, and shortly after was lucky to meet Tim, a man who she loved and adored tremendously. They were able to travel together to many destinations, loved to dance and attend a multitude of concerts. They were excited about their upcoming wedding planned for October 12, 2024 at Niagara on the Lake.

Mom, Gisele, Sizzleburger, Mama bear, Gizzy, we couldn’t have asked for a better mom. You loved us unconditionally and were always there to support and protect us when needed. We will miss you dearly; you will live on in our hearts.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Foster’s Garden Chapel 3220-4th Street NW Calgary, Alberta on Monday, October 7, 2024 at 2:00 pm with interment to follow.
