Frederick "Heath" McNeil

October 6, 1926 – July 9, 2019

It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved husband, dad, grandpa, and great grandpa Frederick Heath McNeil on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 in Calgary, Alberta at 92 years of age.

Heath will be loving remembered his by wife of 64 years Donna (nee Gerlitz), his daughter Patricia, son Grant (Karin); his grandsons Justin (Angela) Brady, Ryan (Drew), Jeremy, Trent, and great grandsons James and Andrew.

Heath was a kind man with a good sense of humor that clearly made family his priority. He enjoyed being with family and always offered unconditional support and guidance; he will have a lasting influence on all of us. Heath spent countless hours at sporting events supporting children and grandchildren and could always be counted on to give a fair and honest opinion on the game. Heath and Donna created everlasting memories by traveling to many different places in their lifetime together.

Heath was born in Edmonton and spent part of his youth in England before returning to Calgary at age 18. Heath was an owner –operator with Arrow and Clean City Cleaners for many years prior to becoming an operator with Calgary Transit. Upon retirement from Calgary Transit, Heath enjoyed golfing with friends and discovered a passion for reading.

For the past four years Heath has enjoyed an active life with Donna at the Lodge at Valley Ridge where his constant companion Bentley provided hours of endless joy for them both. Heath will be greatly missed but will always be a part of cherished memories by family and friends.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.
