Esther Mabel Wright, born Esther Mabel Smedstad February 6, 1918, passed away Sunday, September 21, 2014.
Esther was predeceased by her husband Dr. Allen S. Wright. Esther is survived by her three children: son, Lary Wright (Katherine) and his children, Marcus, Natalie and Jonathan; daughters, Marilyn Dawson (Mike) and her son, Clayton as well as Barbara Wright and her son, Allen (Alisha). Esther was a long time member of Grace Presbyterian Church, the Dorcus Group and a volunteer at the Calgary General Hospital and the Salvation Army. Esther taught school for many years and was a graduate of the Alberta College of Art.
A Funeral Service will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made directly to Heart and Stroke Foundation, Suite 100-119 14 Street N.W., Calgary, AB T2N 1Z6.
