She was born in Tarlac, Philippines on June 3, 1945, and raised in Quezon City. She graduated from the Immaculate Heart of Mary College in Quezon City with honours. Her parents are Consuelo and the late Brigadier General Carlos Flores. She left the Philippines in March 1971 and stayed with her aunt in Fairbanks, Alaska. After a brief stay in Alaska and Colorado, she decided to stay with her cousin, Ernesto Flores in Edmonton, Alberta, where she was granted immigrant status. She met her husband Carlo, and they married on April 20, 1974. They were blessed with two beautiful children.
Cynthia is lovingly remembered by her husband, Carlo, their children Marita Christie Bothwell, Jonathan Lee Borromeo and, her mother, Consuelo Lumanog Flores, her siblings Aurora Cabanero, Carlos Flores II, Carlos Flores III, Marcos Flores, and Agnes Flores de la Merced, and her grandchildren Autumn Jade Bothwell, Parker and Harrison Borromeo, and Archer Tate Borromeo Allen.
Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at a Visitation held at Foster’s Garden Chapel, 3220 – 4 St. N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Monday, May 30, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
A Funeral Mass will celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 640 - 19 Ave NW, Calgary, AB, on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at 10:00 a.m.
